Pond by Aela Labbe
“My work is made up of my memories, my emotions, my hopes, my thoughts and my inner turbulences. There is a certain wistfulness about it - a shroud of reverie perhaps.”

When In Rome by Phil Ochs
Excerpt:
Now nothing remained for building or burning
The losing of lovers was all I was learning
A time for escape and a time for returning had come to me
Back through the ashes and back through the embers
Back through the roads and the ruins I remembered
My hands at my side I sadly surrendered
Do as you please.
The hero was home, proven and grown, I fell on the floor
Mad with romance they started to dance, their star was born
I bled like the rain, exploded in pain, then I screamed for more
Oh, make me feel sublime
Release me from my mind
Oh, kill me one more time
And set me free.

Donovan - Young but growing
There are lots of things which make this version if not great, at least peculiar and noteworthy: first, it is a song that is usually sung by a girl and is rarely sung by a boy, second he has a lovely accent, third he uses a shuffle rhythm for his Travis picking (something I would not dare to do on this song), and fourth it is a video of Donovan from the late 60s.
I already shared versions of this song several times here; its titles are usually The tree they do grow high (derived from the first line of the song), or The bonny boy is young but still growing (derived from the chorus, and usually they take 2 or 3 words off it to make the title - you rarely have the whole chorus line for title). The song also gave its title to the book published by EFDSS compiling some of the songs Cecil Sharp collected in Britain, Still Growing (and of course the volume presents a version of the song Cecil Sharp collected).

“Moments of magic will glow in the night
All fears of the forest are gone
But when the morning breaks they’re swept away by
Golden drops of dawn, of changes.
Passions will part to a strange melody.
As fires will sometimes burn cold.
Like petals in the wind, we’re puppets to the silver
strings of souls, of changes.”
